Bird's Eye View of Pinconning

PINCONNING Before the days of the white man, the Indians came to this area from long distances at Potatoe Harvest time to gather the wild potatoes that grew on the banks of the Pinconning (or Potatoe) river on the Northern edge of town. The wild potatoes are long gone, but Pinconning today is a lively industrial and tourist community, and the home of the famous Pinconning Cheese.
