THE VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING

Dedicated to all. war veterans of Detroit, this is the
first unit of Detroit's new Civic Center. The build-
ing is located along the banks of the Detroit River
on a two-block site bounded by Jefferson, Griswold,
Atwater and Shelby Streets, and the area includes
the site of old Fort Pontchartrain established by
Cadillac in 1701.
