JUNEAU
Juneau, the capital of Alaska, appropriately
called the Gold Belt City, is now the center of
the greatest mining industry of the world. Sev-
eral million dollars are being expended in the
development of adjacent quartz mines, construc-
tion of reduction works and hydro-electric power
plants. Appropriations have been made by the
United States government for the construction
of federal and territorial buildings which are to
be the finest in Alaska.
