HE Old Witch Totem was erected at
Sukwan Village (Alaska), about 100
years ago, in honor of the great Chief
Kitchat. The carvings illustrate a legend
of a fearful Giant who destroyed nearly
all the food and of an old Witch Woman
who overcame the Giant by her Magic.
