This building, "The Shrine of a State's His-
tory,” was the first Arkansas State Capitol; con-
structed in 1833; the wings were added later.
Served as Capitol Building from 1836-1910.
Has been restored and landscaped; one of the
finest examples of pre-Civil War style of archi-
tecture in the South. Open to the public.
