Additional Details:
Morehead Monuments - Guilford, Battle-Ground. Of the Morehead monuments the first, erected in 1900, is in memory of Captain James Morehead, of the Tenth Regiment North Carolina Continental line. He was born in 1750 and died in 1835. The second monument is to Mrs. Kereu Happuck Turner, grandmother of James and John Morehead, soldiers under General Greene. She rode on horseback from Maryland to nurse her wounded son. This is believed to be the only memorial erected to a woman on a battlefield
