BUNKER HILL MONUMENT Occupies the site
of the old redoubt at Breed's Hill, and commemorates the
eventful battle fought on that spot June 17, 1775. An obelisk
of Massachusetts granite, 30 feet square at the base and 22N
feet high. The old earth works, preserved by sod, are still,
visible and the whole ensemble is marked by bronze tablets,
which tell the complete story of the battle. 108.
