METHODIST CHURCH, BODIE, CALIFORNIA
The Methodist Church was built in the old mining camp of
Bodie, California, in the year of 1879, and during the Boom
days of Bodie, always supported a resident pastor. The
church was partially restored in 1928, but is again show-
ing the ravages of time. Bodie became a thriving Gold
Camp after the discovery of Gold by Wm. S. Bodey in 1859.
The Bodie Bluff yielded over $80,000,000.00 during the
life of its mines.
