This old historic town was named after the
English seized all Dutch possessions in North
America in 1664. New Castle was the colonial
capital and later the first state capital of
Delaware. The state government was moved to
Dover in 1777. Shown is the Old State (Court)
House which is the Nation's oldest State House.
