Final resting place of the remains of the
illustrious Father Marquette, who founded his
historic mission at St. Ignace in 1671. This
monument is located directly opposite the In-
dian Village on U. S. highway leading north to
Castle Rock and the famous government locks
at Sault Ste. Marie.
