"MICHIE'S OLD TAVERN"
Charlottesville, Va.
The earliest portion of the building was the
boyhood home of Patrick Henry, built by his
father, John Henry, in 1735. In 1765 it was
purchased by the Michie family who enlarged
the building as a Tavern and installed the Bar
and handsome Ballroom. The building, open
for exhibition, houses a notable collection of
Tavern furnishings of the period.
