Mohawk Indians. Geographically, the greater 1924
part of the trail was a part of New York
State, while politically it was a part of Mass MASS
achusetts. Long before the coming of the white
man to America, how many years nobody
knows, it was this barrier that separated two
powerful divisions of the Indians inhabiting
the country.
