Education of the boys and girls should be our first consideration.
As future citizens, they must have the best opportunities possible in the
public school—the great bulwark of our nation—for beyond this but
few ever advance. All the other States maintain Normal Schools. The
Government conducts normal training. Oregon will have a Normal,
and Monmouth is the pioneer school. It is good business to maintain
this plant and give the children of Oregon the advantage of the best
a year. Vote for Monmouth, and sustain in Oregon trained instructors
for our rural schools, and give your children equal advantages with
the city school. This will enable us to keep the boys and girls at
home, relieve the shortage in the supply of teachers, settle the policy
of the State on the Normal School question, and separate it from
politics. Vote YES for Monmouth.
