Lava beds and their volcanic cones lie on
either hand thru a part of New Mexico. The
craters are all extinct long ago, although at times,
owing to their peculiar colorings, the eruptions
appear to be of comparatively recent occurrence.
The lava beds are best seen between McCartys
and Grant, New Mexico,
