The Alpine scene painted on the front of the
bank is an artist's conception of the famous
Gotthard Pass in the Alps that separates
Switzerland from France. This Railroad tunnel
is 9.3 miles long. A small passenger train ac-
tually comes in and out of two simulated
tunnels, which can be seen to the left of the
painting. This tunnel was completed in 1881.
