Historic Fort William Henry Lake George, N. Y. Built in 1755 by Sir William Johnson to guard the portage between Lake George and the Hudson River. Destroyed in 1757 by Marquis de Montcalm Restored as a Museum of Colonial Americana dedicated to contributions made by this area to the development of our nation.
