The battleship U.S.S. Massachusetts rests as a
permanent memorial dedicated to the fallen
heroes of World War II in Battleship Cove at
Fall River,, Massachusetts. The battleship part-
icipated in 11 naval engagements in both the
Pacific and Atlantic theatres of operation with-
out the loss of a single man, and won 11 battle
stars for its efforts. The ship was made into a
memorial through the joint efforts of inspired
citizens and school children. In the background
is the Braga Bridge.
