Well may this aerial view of the lower
end of Manhattan be called "The Heart
of the World". In this section, pulsing
and throbbing, are more than 2,000,000
workers. Here are the terminals of the
subway and elevated trains, the docks
of ferries from other boroughs, the enor-
mous piers of the ocean liners, and Wall
St. with its famous financial offices. At
the very tip of the Island is Battery Park,
where visitors throng daily to view the
busy harbor scenes.
