Kilauea volcano on Hawaii is the most
accessible volcano in the world. On the banks
of its crater is situated the Volcano House and
near by are the sulphur baths from natural
vapor cracks. The circumference of the crater
7.85 miles and encloses an area of 2650 acres.
The remarkably deep pit of the extinct crater
Kilauea-iki, a mile and a half to the volcano
house, is easily reached. A splendid automobile
road goes to the brink of the crater.

The 12 Islands comprising the Territoty of
Hawaií were admitted to U. S. in 1898.
They contain 6500 sq. miles, about the same
as our congressional district. Population about
219,000, composed of 24,000 whites, 26,000
pure Hawaiians, 90,000 Japanese, also Chinese
and Portuguese, etc.

000,000. other. They buy $36,000,000.
486 churches, 239 schools, 1,020 teachers,
34,000 children.
