The U.S. Engineers Inspection boat Sergeant Floyd
at foot of Main St. in White Cloud, Kans. 7-21-68.
The boat was named to honor Sgt. Charles Floyd,
a member of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, which
passed here 7-10-1804. Sgt. Floyd died 8-20-1804
and was buried in the vicinity of what is now
Sioux, lowa.
