Ship Island Lighthouse, located 12 miles off the
Mississippi Gulf Coast. 'Erected in 1885, this pictur-
esque old lighthouse serves as a landmark for boat-
ing enthusiasts as well as for the Biloxi shrimpers.
Its nighttime functions have been taken over by
modern electronic devices.
