THE DU PONT CHEMISTRY BUILDING
NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR
"The Wonder World of Chemistry" erected at the New
York World's Fair 1939 by E. I. du Pont deNemours &
Company houses a series of dramatizations of the contri-
butions of chemistry to every phase of social and industrial
life. The exhibit was designed by Walter Dorwin Teague;
architectural plans drawn by A. M. Erickson. Among the
displays is a glorified laboratory demonstrating the trans-
formation of commonplace substances into luxuries. Color-
ful liquids circulate constantly in the illuminated column in
the court to represent a modern chemical appliance.
