THE RICHARD SPARROW HOUSE, 1640
Plymouth, Mass.
Richard Sparrow came to Plymouth, Massachu-
setts, from County Kent, England, with the
Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1626 in the ship
Anne with his wife, Pandora and two sons John
and Jonathan. In 1636 he bought land which
consisted of three acres on which the house now
stands and later he acquired alto-gether thirty
acres. He built his house in 1640 and in 1653
sold all the thirty acres to George Bonum.
