The Beautiful and Historic
Inebrose VIRGINIA CAVERNS
Harrisonburg, Virginia
Lowell Thomas broadcast these caverns as:
“A Civil War Memorial Underground” and “The
only war memorial in the world carved by the sol-
diers themselves.” Visitors today see hundreds of
Union and Confederate soldiers' names carved from
1861 to 1865 in this underground wonderland three-
quarters of a mile beneath the earth.
