The angel Gabriel perched atop the Christmas
tree, mistletoe dangled from arch ways, rooms
were festooned with greenery and red ribbons,
huge garlands and poinsettias were everywhere -
all of these adorned the White House. An es-
timated 51,000 visited the Executive Mansion
during the holiday season. The Reagans opened
their "home" and their hearts to many children,
including those of staff members and diplomats.
