MOUNT ST. HELENS. National Guard rescue
helicopter quickly dispatched to the scene of
human suffering and wholesale destruction,
alights on precarious mud flow. Background
trees were leveled by volcanic blast. 60 people
perished; countless were rescued; many miss-
ing persons will never be found. 1200 degree
blast temperatures created these greyish-toned
"moon landscapes" with no contrasting colors.
