At Cody Wyoming, where the Great Plains end at the foot of lofty mountins; on the last battleground of the Crow and Blackfoot, in the heart of the crude, heroic Wild West which one day witnessed his colorful exploits a great bronze Buffalo Bill stands silhouetted against Wyoming's azure sky. The statue, which marks the Eastern terminus of the famous Cody Road of Yellowstone, was designed by the noted sculptress. Mrs. Harry Payne Whitney, and was erected by the buffalo Bill American Association as a memorial to the famous scout, soldier, hunter and courageeous rider of the Pony Express.
