CHESTER COUNTY COURTHOUSE Henderson, Tennessee Chester County was established in 1879 as successor to Wisdom County. The county was named in honor of Colonel Robert I. Chester who was Quartermaster of the Washington County (Tennessee) Regiment, War of 1812; early postmaster of Jackson; later United States Marshal of the Western District.
