The McLennan County Courthouse
Additional Details:
Built 1901-1902. McLennan County was organized in 1850 with Waco as the County Seat. Until the early 20th century the county outstripped the city in population and prosperity. Today the figures are reversed. This courthouse, the county's fourth, was built during the peak of central Texas cotton wealth. Housed here are numerous state, county, and district courts with an extensive law library open to all citizens. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark - 1970 Dexter Press, Inc |
