AVENUES. Wendover Avenue, a short, pretty thoroughfare,
extending from Crotona Park to Claremont Park, is lined with
good stores, and as there are no cars running through it, is
also a nice residence street. It is wide and well paved, and
is crossed by Third Avenue, where runs the elevated road.
