HARLEM RIVER, SHOWING SECOND
AVENUE BRIDGE. The Harlem River, which presents
a very busy scene, was opened for navigation on June 17th,
1895, and is lined with fine docks, buildings etc. The Second
Avenue bridge was built by the Suburban Rapid Transit
Company in 1885, and cost about $ 203,053; a foot path was
opened across it in 1887.
