CHELSEA PIERS, NEW YORK CITY.
The Chelsea Piers extend along the Hudson River, from
the 23rd Street Ferry to West 12th St. and were erected by
the city in 1902-07, at a cost of $15,000,000. The first ship
to land at the piers was the late Cunard Steamer "Lusi-
tania," on her maiden trip in 1907. The piers are used
by the Cunard line, French Line, Atlantic Transport
Line, Red Star Line, White Star Line and American Eine.
Over 2.000.000 passengers arrived and sailed from this
pier in 1914.
