The War College is located in the extreme
southern part of the Washington Barracks
formerly known as the Arsenal Grounds, and
overlooks the Potomac River. Engineer, cav-
alry, artillery, and infantry officers form the
classes of this college where they study the
science and strategy of war. In front of the
o college may be seen the statue of Frederick
the Great. This statue is a duplicate of one
in Berlin and was presented to the United
States by Emperor William II of Germany.
