A Courtyard. Our illustration shows a typical Moroccan
courtyard or place. Features peculiar to the East are the
small “boxes” which serve as shops, in which sit or recline
the shop-keepers. Others, chiefly country folk with fruit or
home manufactures, simply lıy their goods on the pavement
and squat alongside waiting for intending purchasers.
