This cabin was built by my GGgrandfather Shelton in 1851 in Mena AR. William H. Shelton was born in 1795. He was in the war of 1812 and had a son William Shelton born in 1837 . He also had a Daughter named Frances(Fanny)born in 1835 and another daughter Mary born in 1839. Fanny helped square the logs and cut her foot. An unfinished log is still visible as a reminder of this accident. A gun and a spinning whell along with a portrait of Bill Shelton was once kept in the Cabin. Who took them is not known. Some of the family have small photos of the picture. You can find the William H. Shelton family inthe 1850 US Census.Polk County AR, Center Township
