Aeroplane view of New York World's Fair of 1939,
showing the architectural beauty of the Fair Grounds in
Flushing Meadow Park. Greatly enhanced and beautified
in all its coloring by the employment of mercury vacuum
tubes and other luminous effects, this true-scale model of
the New York World's Fair of 1939, is now on display as
part of the Fair's preview exhibit on the ground floor of the
Empire State Building. As here taken, the photograph
shows a view looking up the Esplanade toward the Theme
Building the gigantic Perisphere, and its attendant Trylon,
a spire reaching 700 feet into the air, which form the
dominant architectural group of the Exposition.
