or lightly on some

topic
of
food and drink. One
shows a banquet in a
medieval castle; an-
other, ships from Spain
with Cortez and his
armored soldiers en-
joying a feast of game.
Sixteenth Century
France is represented
by Francis I hawking,
while Henry VIII of
England is shown ar-
riving home from the
hunt. Italy and a Ren-
aissance banquet for a
prince-gay old Vien-
na-brandy with Na-
poleon
the ages to a gleam-
ing modern kitchen in
a city of skyscrapers.

Edgar Miller, American Artist, created these murals in
his own medium by covering each canvas with 7 coats of ver-
milion red and leafing it with layers of gold, silver, alumi-
num and bronze. The drawings, which were entirely spon-
taneous and not formulated from sketches or notes, he did
in black with some cutting through the layers of leaf to the
red and sandpapering leafed surfaces to obtain the tonal
effects. All of these murals make a fascinating background
for the distinctive PIERRE GRILL known for the ultimate
in fine foods.
