PIO PICO MANSION – Pico, California The home of Pio Pico (the last Governor of California under Mexican rule). Located in the town that received its name from this famous general in early American History. The adobe house was built by General Pico's Indians between 1848 and 1852. It was known as "El Ranchito" because of its small area – only nine thousand acres.
