Additional Details:
1650-1680. Oldest house in Boston (restored). Only type of colonial dwelling in the heart of a great city. Purchased in 1770 by Paul Revere, and here he lived until 1800. In the upper windows of this house on the first anniversary of the Boston Massacre were displayed those awful illustrated pictures which struck the assembly of spectators "with solemn silence" while "their countenances were covered with melancholy gloom." From the door of this house Paul Revere went forth on his famous ride April 18, 1775
