Henley-on-Thames Regatta, which takes place
annually during July, ranks among the most prominent of
the fashionable fixtures of the year. It was instituted in
1839, and has been held every summer since that date. The
two best known events are the Grand Challenge Cup for
eights and the Diamond Sculls.
