Preserved as a public shrine, the birthplace of
Dwight David Eisenhower, President of The United JUN 24
States of America, 1953-1960, is located in the
southeast part of Denison. The famed World War

11 hero was born Oct. 14, 1890, in the first floor 1964
room on the right. His parents were David J. and
Ida Elizabeth Eisenhower. The father was an em-
ployee of the Katy Railroad. The close proximity
of Lake Texoma, one of the Nation's top recrea-
tional centers, serves to draw hundreds of addi-
tional tourists to the Eisenhower birthplace.
