ALBERT P. BREWER
Governor of Alabama
Albert Brewer was elected Lt. Governor of Alabama
without opposition in the general election on Nov. 8,
1966. In January, 1963 he was elected Speaker of
the House of Representatives and was the youngest
(age 34) ever elected to this high post. He formerly
represented Morgan County in the legislature for 2
terms. He succeeded the late Governor Lurleen
Wallace as governor on May 7, 1968.
