ANGELUS OAKS
To
Angelus Oaks is Located on the old 101 Mile
Drive that opens the San Bernadino
Mountains to recreational activities. This
photographer remembers the control point at
Igo's store where traffic would be held for the
cars coming down. In an hour wait there may
be all of 10-15 cars ready for the trip up.
Camp was made on the south fork of the
Santa Ana River. Big Bear was a
was a small
mountain camp. Max and Perry Green started
the stage line to Big Bear with a couple of
White trucks. The mountain area around
Angelus Oaks teems with wildlife, there are a
great number of summer camps in the
mountains..M.P.
