St. Vincent's College and Academy

Established in 1866 by the Daughters of the Cross, the present structure of St. Vincent's College and Academy was built in 1906 of brick made from clay on the grounds. It is situated on a rolling and wooded 100-acre campus which also includes the institution's truck and dairy farms and poultry yards, and a little cemetery in which are buried many nuns who played heroic parts in the yellow fever epidemics in Shreveport Dexter Press, Inc |
