BEAVER ISLAND
This beautiful Island, located in Upper Lake Mich-
igan Northwest of Charlevoix, was once ruled by
the only King ever to hold sway in the United
States. Known as King Strang, he ruled his Mor-
mon flock as a cruel and severe despot, until shot
to death by members of his own colony.
Today Beaver Island is a popular resort and cen-
ter of educational research, and is easily reached
by Boat or Plane.
