No. 87-SUNSET ON THE DESERT
Fantastic scenes. mirages, and sunsets of
great beauty are rare charms of the desert.
The great variety of cactus shown in this
picture are, left to right-the cholla, bisnaga i
or nigger-head, ocatillo or devil's coach-whip, ;
palmas or prickly-pear, giant sahuaro, and
at the extreme right the barrell cactus. All
are fortified with thorns as tho for the pre-
servation of their lives-everything on the
desert does battle for an existence.
