now one of the leading health and holiday resorts in hand
Somerset, enjoying a winter climate mild enough for the
growth of semi-tropical plants. Lying close to the hills of
Exmoor, and the waters of the Bristol Channel, the beacon
light which used to crown its church is no longer needed
as a guide to travellers, who now enjoy the fine sands,
safe bathing and beautiful countryside.
