at the Divide in Smugglers hotch we
sloffed for a time. This is one of the most attractive
features of this mountain region. overshadowed by
great cliffs which rise in places almost perpendicularly
for thousand feet or more, and some of them have
been fashioned into curious formations by storm and
frost! One kroown as Elephant's Bead, resembles
the head and trunk of an elephant
