Farming in Utah is much different to farming on
the great plains. An irrigated farm of five acres will
support a family. One crop of sugar beets can be
raised every year, and an acre of ground be made to
produce a net profit of $100. Aside from this, fruits
and vegetables and alfalfa are raised with great
profit, so that an irrigated farm of twenty acres is
as valuable ofttimes as the prairie farm of 100 acres.
