WAWONA TREE
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, CALIFORNIA
This well-known tree stood in the Mariposa Grove of
Big Trees until the winter of 1968-69. The tunnel through
it was cut in 1881, and it was still alive at the time
it toppled over.
